Acting Chief Chad Kimple, who is also the San Juan County Fire Marshal, will oversee Orcas Island Fire & Rescue while the Board of Fire Commissioners begins their chief search.
Our officers include Captains and Lieutenants. These officers lead the volunteer Emergency Responders in the field. Volunteer Officers also lead responders.
Dr. Josh Corsa is our Medical Program Director. Dr. Matthew Russell is our Medical Program Director-Delegate who does QA/QC and Run Review with all responders.
OIFR volunteer responders include Firefighters, EMTs, Wildland Firefighters, and Rescue Technicians. Many of our responders are trained in multiple fields. They are highly-skilled and on-call 24/7.
