The Orcas Island Board of Fire Commissioners will present a Resolution during the September 19th 5:30 p.m. regular meeting to change the time of the regular monthly meeting.
The Board currently meets at 5:30 p.m. on the third Monday of each month. After discussion during the July 18th and August 15th meetings, the Board will move the meetings to 1:00 p.m. on the third Monday of each month, starting in October.
This change will run on a trial basis through December. Many of the staff and volunteers who attend the meetings also spend several evenings per month participating in other department meetings and trainings.
Public participation and input are a vital part of each public meeting. Public comment will continue to be held, and the Board of Fire Commissioner’s meeting will continue to be recorded and available on the website.
